"When my husband and I went up Kilimanjaro in 2013, Gaston was one of our guides. He was a real
pleasure to work with, very friendly, cheerful, and knowledgeable. We would hire him again any

"Climbing Kilimanjaro was the most difficult and challenging thing I have ever done, but it was
also the most incredible experience of my life! The nature was amazing, the views were
astonishing and the sense of achievement when I reached the top was out of this world! The
experience was made even more unforgettable by the amazing group of people that helped me to get
there. The guides that we had were amazing! They were so knowledgeable about the mountain and
the routes that we took, and they made each day so fun and interesting, but above all else they
made sure that we were safe for the duration of our trek. The porters were also wonderful, they
took such good care of us every day and had amazing food ready for us at every meal time - I
have no idea how they managed it on the side of a mountain, but the food was delicious! After
the trek I did a two day safari, which was the perfect way to end an amazing trip and see more
of the beautiful country of Tanzania. I would highly recommend Tembo Treks for your Kilimanjaro
adventure!"
"Hi Tembo treks! We had a great time with you as a guide to the top of Africa! Very professional
and a good people reader, Good knowledge about the mountain with many trips up and down. Food
was amazing and prepared with most care for what you need to make it to the top, We felt safe
and the decisions made based upon weather condition and how we felt was taken seriously, there
was bad weather the morning we was suppose to start the last climb to the top. Tembo treks
strongly recommended that we waited out the blizzard to ensure a safer climb to the summit, and
with Tembo Trek's experience it was wise to listen, we would surely had to abandon the climb
otherwise as with other teams did because of the poor visibility and strong winds. We hope to go
to the top of Africa again, and Tembo treks is the guide we defiantly want to have for the next

"Pole Pole..... these where the words that followed me and my friends from the beginning on our
guide hiking to the top of Kilimanjaro. It means slowly slowly in Swahili. But even if we had to
walk pole pole all the way we had a very god time in a beautiful scenery. I will highly
recommend Tembo Treks if you want to have a safe trip with guides that are expert on hiking
Kilimanjaro. Our guides, one of them Gastor Mosha, did everything to make sure we had a good

"Gastor Mosha was the lead guide for me and my friends as we climbed up Mt. Kilimanjaro on our
eight day journey. Throughout the trek, Gastor was incredibly knowledgeable about the
environment and the wildlife, and provided us with many stories along the way. He even taught us
some expressions in Swahili. He did a fantastic job keeping our spirits high when we were going
through some of the more difficult parts of the trek. Especially on the final day which took the
most amount of energy and willpower to succeed - Gastor was brilliant at keeping our eye on the

"I still can't believe I made it to the top of Kilimanjaro! I had a fantastic experience with
Gastor of Tembo Treks. He was professional, knowledgeable, and fun. I am a plant person by trade
so I was really looking forward to seeing the plants. He knew all of them. From the moment I met
him he took very good care of me. I was travelling solo. Always checking in. How's your stomach,
head, etc. There is one moment in particular that sticks in my mind about Gastor. It was summit
night. I was really struggling, as I'm sure a lot of people do. It's dark, I'm freezing, I'm
exhausted. We finally got to Stella Point. Unbeknownst to me Gastor had made a thermos of hot
ginger tea before leaving Barafu Camp. When he came over and gave me a hot cup it was the best
thing ever. It was exactly what I needed. It's such a small thing but I was so appreciative. We
could've just kept going and I wouldn't have known any different but he took the time to try and
make us more comfortable. It's that level of care that helped make my trip one of a lifetime.
Kili was something I had saved up for dreamt about for a long time. Thank you Gastor for helping
to make it so special. And much respect to all the porters who really make it look easy but I
know how hard they work to make it all happen."
"I climbed Kilimanjaro in 2013 Gastor was the lead guide for our group of six. I had the best
time ever, worth every penny. Guides and porters made sure we were safe, and well feed... Food
was amazing! Thanks to Gastor and other guides even the weakest members of our group made to the
top. ! I really recommend ,Tembo treks, and Kilimanjaro climb, you will have a great time !"
"I was climbing Kili in 2015 and had Gastor as a guide and climbinstructor. Immediately i felt a
confidence in his experience and knowledge in the mountain. If anyone is insecure about that,
just ask him what it take to become a montainguide and you will feel safe. He also have good
skills about a lot other things around the mountain, like plants or animals etc. The rest of the
supportgroup worked very hard and i never missed a thing. They carry your bags and make your
food so you can concentrate 100% on the hike. You get a lot of food and the equipment were good.
I also talked to other people and the price + the mandatory tip is fair. If anybody need more

"I had a fabulous trek up Kilimanjaro with Gastor and the team. From the moment I met them I
knew that I was in safe hands. As I was trekking with a group of people I’d never met before (a
trio and another solo traveller) I was worried that I’d feel alone, but the guys were so
friendly and funny that I felt as if I’d known everyone for years. The days were long and quite
tiring, especially as it got near summit night, but they constantly kept spirits high with songs
and jokes the whole way up. Summit night was tough but exhilarating and Gastor and the team kept
a close eye on us all. We took it slow and I never felt pressured or rushed, everything was at
our own pace. Our whole team summitted at 7:50am, and after spending some time taking in the
beautiful views, we started to make our way down. This is when I began to feel ill (purely from
exhaustion of the 8hr trek to summit and then starting the decent). Gastor took such great care
of me; he made sure u had plenty of fluids, he took my bags from me and constantly reassured me
that I would be okay. When we finally made it to the bottom I was so sad to be leaving the team
but they joined us for tea and we spent a couple of days exploring Arusha with them. They went
above and beyond all of my expectations and I cannot thank them enough for helping me to
accomplish such an amazing feat. I cannot recommend them highly enough as they were just
incredible! Do not hesitate to book!"
"I recently had the great adventure of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with Gastor at Tembo Trecks.
Our group did the Machame Route over the seven days . It was a small group of 5 so Gastor
arranged for another two experienced guides and maybe 12 porters including the cook. The cook
was just brilliant. How he does chicken and chips on the final day is beyond me but it was
amazing. Seven days was perfect, camping was on rough ground but the equipment Gastor provided
was up for it. Two man tents with plenty room for your gear. Every morning I was awoken by our
porter with a mug of hot tea. The 1st aid provided was also excellent with morning checks on all
of us and Gastor monitored us constantly for any effects of high altitude. The pace was slow
which was perfect as we acclimatized nice and slowly which made us ready for summit day. I am a
professional mountain guide myself so am super critical of other mountain guides if need be . I
had nothing but praise for Gastor and his team. There were no problems what so ever. I would
have no hesitation in recommending Tembo Trecks . I will certainly be using this company in the
future when my kids are ready for Kilimanjaro."
